I would recommend buying a good set of rechargeable batteries (Eneloop) if you will be using them a lot.

Don't expect this set to operate like a Midland or Motorola set that costs 3 times as much.

and further more I purchased Duracell rechargeable batteries AAA and even if they do run out I just charge them up instead of purchasing the the more expensive rechargeable set

This is a very good set for the money and the range is great especially for a fair or Disney

Had 2 other friends each get a set as well, connection between them was flawless

Great set of walkies for kids, bought these for our 6 year old and he loves them

Really impressed, I bought 2 sets, for my kids on a cruise to Mexico, so we could talk to them anywhere on the ship

I had a set for the exactly same model years ago, and they have never fail, but I have lost them in a trip, this time I bought four pieces, and they worked as good as well

For the money you pay, this is a 4 Star item, my recommendation would be to spend the $70-$100 on a better set if you are going to be in some life threatening situation like out in the backwoods where there is no cell signal or something but for normal use at much less than 16 miles I would recommend these if your budget is tight.

Maybe I just got a bad set?!
