The noise isolation is great

I decided to test the noise-isolation, and as I played something on the volume that I found a bit too loud, I let the headphones press into each other in 'off' position, with each earpiece forming a seal with the other

but I did not expect them to either as I understood the difference between noise isolation and noise cancelling

I use mine when gaming (with the boom pro mic), mowing the lawn (great noise isolation without the need for batteries), and on a plane trip from Hawaii to Seattle with absolutely no problems whatsoever

The noise isolation is effective and they do block out a good bit of sound and would be great for road trips/ plane rides

However as a caveat the aviators are terrible with noise isolation and leakage.

I recommend buying the XL ear pads from v-moda for extra noise isolation and comfort.

In fact the passive noise isolation on these headphones were better than some of the active noise isolation headphones I've tried in the past

If you are overwhelmed by the choices of headphones available in the $300 price range, are looking for something to use at home as well as on the go and care about quality sound while also appreciating deep, powerful, tight bass, these are simply the best choice available.

These headphones add the right amount of tight, clear base that makes the music realistic and warm rather than flat and stark as in the Bose.
