BD5 takes takes soft reeds.

It is also very reed-friendly; I've paired it easily with Vandoren V21, regular Reserve, and Grand Concert Thick Blank reeds all with stellar results

Allows me to play harder reeds, which support the high notes, yet I don't struggle with that all too familiar airy sound and getting out of breath from blowing so hard to get a sound out.
