The drawers slide well IF you keep them in their original location.

The top left hand drawer would not open, after pulling the other 3 drawers out and examining the inside, I could see that the back center track which is made from thin low grade plywood had cracked and come away from the nails holding in place

The exterior box is reasonably solid, but the drawers are really a disappointment

Then junked the drawers eventually too when I moved onto t anew product

Above average quality and adjustable drawer dividers are nice to prevent cases from falling over when you only have a few in the drawer

The drawer doesn't even slide very well and it used to have felt on the inside that covered the locking

Then the top drawer wouldn't lock anymore

The drawer works smoothly even when fully loaded

Since they are not there to stabilize drawers they are removable if you don't want to use them

The drawers don't close too well - you have to jimmy them a little bit but whatever

The drawers stick a little when trying to get open but it worked for what I needed.

The drawers are solid, and are very easy to open and close - not sure how one person that wrote a review claimed otherwise, had to be a defective unit or defective consumer (probably the latter).The only drawback is that you DO have to purchase your own folders, as this product only comes with 6 sample folders

The drawer removes completely - so yes the lock does come in handy to secure the drawer if you are carrying the case around
