I think where people go wrong is that they either don't drill a pilot hole for the screws like the directions say to do, or they make a hole that is too small (the directions call for using a 7/32" drill bit and for the hole to be made 2 1/4" deep, which is pretty deep).The directions also call for you to screw the wall plate into studs in the wall, so you need to able to find the center of the stud, AND make sure the screw won't be going right next to a nail that holds the wall boards on the studs.

While I did it by myself, I would definitely recommend 2 people for hanging the TV with the support brackets onto the mounting plate

You need two people to properly mount and hang tv as stated in instructions

Some people have noted in their reviews of this unit some difficulty in accessing the bottom screws that must be turned to lock the TV in place on the back plate
