I mounted this to my studs and picked myself (180 lbs) up by the wall brackets before I hung the TV, no flex and no issues.

Once you hang that TV by it's hook on the backplate, you're at the mercy of the metal tolerances - there are NO leveling adjustments at this point

Still: taking that kind of time setting up is pretty reasonable considering that a (non-articulating) TV mount is pretty much a "set it and forget it" type of product.

I recently bought a new LED TV for my living room and figured it was time to mount it up.

We ended up only using one half of the black backing to hang the TV on the wall and it worked great
