Unfortunately, the Full-HD designation is an exaggeration: the HDMI port is apparently a dummy--the screen indicates "No Signal" for a few seconds before going dark when I route through it

It still doesn't work and goes black and cuts in and out for seconds or long periods at a time (screen shows: "no signal")

Then, along with the noises I started losing signal intermittently.

VGA is capable of fairly high resolutions and frame rates however it's still an analog signal and any visual feature would be degraded with the VGA connection rather than the HDMI connection

I liked this monitor well enough to purchase a second one for my mom.

Not -quite- as sharp as the Samsung, but perfectly good and the price was excellent!

I had to return it, no way can I use this side by side with my other monitor with the colors as dull as they are.

This comes with a pedestal base that is more than adequate, but I wanted the mount I mentioned to free up desk real estate as well as to make this monitor a grab-and-go solution for a second use, which I'll get into below
