O rings didn't work for the 1986 space shuttle and they don't work on wine aerated is either

They emailed me back right away and shipped a new O-ring as well

There is a clear o-ring that keeps it from leaking.

I think this is because I lost the rubber ring

I think the problem people are having with this item is either they are losing the o-ring that is around the clear part when washing it.

Though it can be cleaned by running warm water through it I disassembled it for cleaning and as the manual stated, it is possible for the o-ring to become misaligned which will cause leaks if it isn't properly installed.
