I used to take a very high end metal filter coffee maker on the road and was very happy with the great quality coffee I could enjoy quite easily.

For me, what it makes I wouldn't formally call espresso but rather frothed strong coffee.

Run the steel press in hot water or it will cool the coffee during the press

I got the Wacaco Nanopress specificly to have amazing espresso/coffee while deployed on a ship for onths at a time

every variable I changed, the coffee got harder to extract one way or the other, either dripped out slowly, under extracted, or it came out quickly even less extracted

I bought the machine to use in the office, as there is no proper espresso coffee machine around

For camping it’s super easy, clean and most importantly the coffee is good

If you're doing the kind of travel where you can't perfectly rinse out the filter, either deal with the fact that there may be a few old grounds in your filter next time, or bring freeze dried coffee

So, this new model is even better as it takes up less space in the suitcase but still gives us the wonderful coffee we look forward to every morning.

I used my own coffee and ground it to a normal, fine, espresso grind

All you need is ground coffee and boiling water
