    WD 4TB 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache, 3.5-Inch Desktop Hard Disk Drive (WD4003FZEX)

    • It has to be the second noisiest hard drive I have heard and used, second only to my ancient long lost noisy MFM drive from the DOS era.

    • These are and have been my favorite desktop drives for years.
    • I bought this for my brother who was skeptical of SSD, personally I would have gotten a big slower drive for dedicated mass media storage/backup purposes as SSDs have now become affordable enough even for games and large apps.
    • and I thought the neighbors were setting off fireworks when we first heard this hard drive in operation
    • i have samsung solid state drives in a raide configuration for the main drives.
