Once you've used a good SSD, it can't compare, but this drive has been solid so far and does what I expected it to do.

Compared to other mechanical drives it is very fast and is a good compromise if you need the capacity but can't afford SSD

I definitely recommend an SSD to run your OS off of (I have a Samsung 840 SSD for that
