    • A technician recommended me to use an external hard drive as a back up, just in case I could lose the data, and it is doing a great job.
    • 4TB has left me with no concern over storage space so I can greedily download all of the Games with Gold titles each month as well as have every purchased game in my collection on the hard drive with tons of extra space.
    • I wanted to post this to help others who may have encountered the sleep/wake problem with this device as well as those that may be contemplating buying this and should be aware of the issue up front.

    • I thought let me check disk management...and it's not there either...searched online and discovered many people had this issue with no solid response from WD, the only way is to unplug > plug again for it to work as there is no on/off button as the older models
    • (1) at three feet, the USB cord is pretty short for a standard desktop setup; (2) you are stuck with WD's 3-foot USB cord because it is a directional "USB 3.0 A to micro B cable" (as opposed to a standard USB A male-to-male cable), so if you want a longer USB cord, be sure to order this type ahead of time; (3) a BIG surprise...when directly using the WD backup software, Windows 10 won't allow you to backup a System Image of your computer, which is a critical restore drive D: (4) if you want System Image backups you will need to disable the backup feature on
