This particular drive has failed several times and I have to rewrite over it from the beginning with Time Machine Backup

This particular drive died recently (first time I've ever had a WD drive die, and I own 9 3 TB drives)

no problems there, but every time my computer goes to sleep the drive disconnects itself and I get a pop-up to run RAID software which I can't because it doesn't see my drive anymore

Long time WD fan, no issues, supplied software is pretty nice for auto backups.

I used this item one time and it failed.

I've had this drive running my Time Machine backups for about 8 months, and it's been working great the entire time.

This time I could not blame bad sectors, so I soldiered on for months, working with WD and going through their check list of possibilities, as well as looking at all sorts of other "solutions" suggested by various online communities.
