Now i will say they are not my primary drives either, i have a ssd for the os and these just hang out to take care of the rest of the heavy lifting when needed.

Reliable, will add an SSD after cost comes down, maybe next summer by most reports.

Not really anywhere near as fast as an SSD but for the money I'm satisfied.

Not as fast as intel SSD drives, but it's more than enough for my intense use when recording 16+ tracks of audio in the studio.

This drive is very quiet and is probably about 75% as fast as the SSD that it replaced.

Raptors are always the best bang for your buck for speed whilst SSD is still pricey per gigabyte.

They are Not as Fast as an SSD drive, so don't expect that

While it may not load applications quite as fast as a good SSD, the net functional speed is close to that of an SSD if you have a fast processor with plenty of memory

The SSD's speed (both input and output) has increased, but their MTBF hasn't fallen to the level of the 10k RPM VelociRaptor drives

I replaced most of my computers with SSD's but one of them had a 1 tb 7200 rpm boot drive that I didn't really want to go breaking up to use a smaller SSD because 1tb ssd are still crazy expensive.

I would advise that everyone get these, I trust them a lot more then SSD.
