You have to apply the correct torque or your expensive rings and scopes will be damaged unnecessarily.

For the first time i feel my scopes are not damaged nor the mount screws , it's recommended indeed for such sensitive works like a scope setup.

After using this, I clearly see that I would have tightened the screws down too much in both areas and damaged the scope base and probably the scope.

If you don't want to overtighten that expensive scope that you just traded your kidney for, the right amount of torque is a necessity

Luckily it was a cheaper scope ring, so I reordered it and then this torque wrench

This tool is a worthwhile purchase, as it will probably save you a lot of money and frustration over stripped screws and damaged scopes, scope rings, and rails
