This simply inserts in the back of the Wii in place of the original video/audio cable assembly, then any HDMI cable is needed to plug this into an available HDMI input on the TV set.

If you're looking for a not so expensive Wii to HDMI converter, I would recommend this device!

The tv has a HDMI switch box that toggles between the sources and making everything HDMI allowed cleaning up of cables.
