This can be fixed by moving the screwed connectors further apart (You'd need a drill to make prep hole in a different location and screwdriver to reinsert screws, or even just screwdriver if you wanna be ghetto with it).The cushion is too soft for my butt, but it's not especially soft compared to other similar benches.
