X-ACTO Ranger 1031 Wall Mount Manual Pencil Sharpener

    • Before buying I was a bit weary reading other reviews that describe an unbalanced sharpened point (one side sharp lead exposed, the other side still wood).
    • If you are an artist, this is great for soft leads and colored pencils because it gives you so much control
    • Prismacolor coloring pencils and watercolor pencils without breaking the lead over and over again like with the tiny hand sharpeners we were using
    • We haven't broken a single led since switching to this sharpener, and it is much sharper than we could ever get with a bladed sharpener
    • Purchased this sharpener to use in my wood shop because I have a variety of size pencils, every one I sharpen it breaks the lead and no matter how many times you try the lead is broken ~ 1" back into the pencil have wasted too many pencils
    • A legit pencil sharpener... could probably knaw through an entire pencil in a minute or two... doesn't break the lead
    • This always sharpens by soft lead pencils without breaking the lead like the crappy sharpeners do.
    • Love having this as opposed to the cheap little plastic sharpeners that continually break your lead
    • It breaks the lead, and cuts the wood way off center.
    • Heavy duty enough, and does a fantastic job of sharpening without breaking the lead (even in the cheap off center Walmart pencils).
    • It puts a fine point on a pencil without breaking the lead, is very smooth and comfortable.
    • Tired of cheap blade-based sharpeners that go dull quickly or break the pencil led
    • This always sharpens by soft lead pencils without breaking the lead like the crappy sharpeners do.
    • Two excellent features; I've had it for a couple months now and it has yet to break a lead
    • It's easy to use doesn't break the lead of the pencils and gives you a nice sharp point
    • Sharpens pencils without chopping them up or breaking lead!
    • Any diameter pencil is easily sharpened to as fine a point as you like, with no tendency to break the lead
    • but I have a tough time getting a nice sharp point on my hard lead pencils without chewing up too much of the pencil.
    • Prismacolor coloring pencils and watercolor pencils without breaking the lead over and over again like with the tiny hand sharpeners we were using
    • At our house, we love coloring with color pencils, but the cheap blade sharpeners (automatic or manual) would regularly break the led deep into the pencil causing us to waste a lot
    • It puts a great point on your drawing pencils without breaking the lead every time you use it like some I have tried
    • got tired of the cheapy little hand sharpeners that broke my lead every time a tried to sharpen my pencils I use in marking wood cuts.
    • Leaves a clean smooth lead everytime.
    • Also, it's a very aggressive cut, so you have to hold the pencil carefully as you sharpen, or it's going to constantly break the lead.
    • I was tired of pencil sharpeners that jammed, broke off lead or I could never find as they were so small
    • Other brands kept breaking my pencil leads and eating my pencils.
    • Never breaks the lead
    • This pencil sharpener provide you with precision sharpened pencil point without breaking the lead in the pencil
    • It Sharpened fine at first but it soon only sharpened one side then it would only "eat" the pencil and break the lead on almost every attempt.
    • The first one that is big enough is too big, causing the pencil to shift and break the lead.
    • Have had many battery operated sharpeners as well as hand ones, nothing beats the school-type sharpeners
    • works as
    • Works as
    • This doesn't really bother me as I don't sharpen a ton
    • If you mount it on a wall for use for turning the handle with your right hand, the basket dumps as you take it off
    • Works as long as you can turn it.
    • Disappointing as you really should not need to buy a pencil sharpener every few years.
