I got tired of using the cheap little plastic ones that left you with a tiny tip that usually broke off when you got to use it
-
What can I say but this is the type of pencil sharpener I had as a kid back in the dark ages...and these pencil sharpeners still vastly out perform the cheap plastic sharpeners that the kids get tons of these days.
-
This replaces a cheap plastic handheld sharpener, (the second one), and I’m a college student/single father of two elementary age boys so it’ll get plenty of use.
-
Love having this as opposed to the cheap little plastic sharpeners that continually break your lead
-
Must have for the garage shop, use pencils all the time, got tired of the little cheap plastic things and bought a REAL pencil sharpener, like the ones I remember from school, Does a great job, so sharp you need to be careful not to poke a eye out, seriously they can poke a hole in your shirt pocket.
-
Better than the cheap plastic ones.
-
Works great and love that it is metal and not a cheap plastic sharpener.
-
It does beat out the cheesy plastic hand held sharpeners.
-
Even the most cheap Chinese plastic sharper would give you a better result
-
Cheap Plastic and does not sharpen well
-
We went through 100 frustrating little plastic handheld sharpeners before getting this for our homeschool family
-
Those cheap little plastic sharpeners always broke the point off and had to try many times just to get something that I could write with
-
I broke two electric sharpeners over the last 4 years, and don't use pencils much....these X-Acto sharpeners are built with ALL Metal Parts...no chintzy plastic gears, etc
-
That said, I do like black and silver, and the plastic seems sturdy enough, but all metal would have been a 5 star.
-
Have had many battery operated sharpeners as well as hand ones, nothing beats the school-type sharpeners
-

This doesn't really bother me as I don't sharpen a ton
-
If you mount it on a wall for use for turning the handle with your right hand, the basket dumps as you take it off
-
Works as long as you can turn it.
-
Disappointing as you really should not need to buy a pencil sharpener every few years.
