Although an exaggeration, it's like the original Xbox 360 is as loud as a jet engine, the 360 S as loud as a dishwasher, and finally the 360 E as loud as someone whispering across the room

It could be wishful thinking, but it seems like the 360 E keeps the ultra quiet fan going longer after powering the console off than the 360 S. Better heat removal AND less heat = longer lasting console
