I tested the range as best I could as well, and the U2 performed marvelously all the way down to the entire lower level of my office, which definitely bodes well for being 10-20 or so unobstructed feet away from your rig on a stage

After moving the transmitter away from the instrument the sound quality is very good and great range but because of the proximity issue dropped down to 4 stars
