I then ordered a Yamaha FC4A Assignable Piano Sustain Foot Pedal; thankfully, that sustain foot pedal had worked and I had been able to return the Yamaha FC3A Piano Style Sustain Foot Pedal with Half-Pedaling for a full refund.

my NP-31 (which did say it suppors half-pedal functionality), as well as in my DAW when using it as a MIDI controller, and I saw no difference
