    Yamaha MusicCast WX-010 Wireless Speaker with Bluetooth (White), Works with Alexa

    • Well.... the app is pretty ugly, not intuitive at all, and set up failed a few times
    • If you connect to wifi instead, you will need to use the free downloadable mobile app
    • Overall, solid engineering in the speaker but the app and Alexa integration need some tweaking.
    • The app will setp you through setting up the speaker so it will work with your home wireless network

    • I want to comment on the MusicCast app, because the app can make or break a speaker’s usefulness

    • The Jongo has the advantage of having an internal battery, but its connection to WiFi and its stereo setup have always been pretty flakey, and its app isn't nearly as nice as Yamaha's
    • Updated: thanks to Yamaha for reaching out, however after a recent update of the app to version 2.0 and the device to version 1.22 the whole system is much more stable, the app now consistently finds the speaker and does not drop the connection
    • The MusicCast app has always been responsive even when managing multiple devices streaming different sources.
    • It works completely from a smart phone with the proper app and since most of the world has a smart phone, it should work well for a majority of people

    • The MusicCast app has been quite stable so far, with none of the frequent crashes or network droupouts that seemed to plague it at first release.

    • These are just initial impressions , won't comment on Musiccast but can't complain, everything works as it should
    • Airplay works as it should and the speaker is seen on iOS devices as a selectable audio destination.
