The bass and lows were very solid and the highs were right on.

Of particular note is the great bass that this set produces - very deep, no distortion

The sub puts out nice, clean bass, and the center channel and satellites put out good, clear surround sound too!!

Again, the floor-standing Wharfedales produce better bass (but they're also rated better, too).

The speakers are technically small I supppose (at 2.5 inches) and the automatic feature always forced the setting back to "small" but these speakers produce more than adequate bass and mid-frequency sound and "large" is the proper setting.

For a small apartment this set works well, first I thought the satellite speakers and the sub were too small, but after receiving the Yamaha receiver and setting everything up the sub seemed too low like there was no bass, but after I turned the volume knob on the subwoofer majority of the way up and tuned the receiver to the proper specs I can barely turn up the volume on the receiver without shaking the apt and now everything works great in unison, the sub really hits the low frequencies well
