With the appropriate receiver this system puts out some serious sound!Pros
-
Although I couldn't use the subwoofer since it is a powered connection and has a special connection type from a compatible receiver, I really didn't need to since ive been using an old 12" subwoofer I had.
-
Great sound and even though I lacked a high quality receiver I still was heavily enjoying my mini home theater sound
-
-DH510 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver [3D Compatible] receiver with these
-
Just need the right receiver for it thats all.
-
Complaints about the bass quality of the satellite speakers are unfounded because any decent receiver can be set to play bass at a customized frequency threshold only through the subwoofer, which in this case, provides clean accurate tones, and is plenty strong for average-sized rooms
-
If your goal is to have a solid indoor home theater or party room 5.1 setup then these are it!Let's first grant the fact that one needs to have an excellent receiver
-
Plan to pair with a decent receiver, for the purpose of watching movies mainly (and playing games), while listening to music on occasion via streaming Audio, connecting an iPod, etc.3
-
Combined with a decent receiver this system will impress your guests
-
I also bought a very nice receiver (Denon AVR-1912) that came with a microphone-equipped system (Audyssey Mult-EQ) for calibrating the audio signals to make the speakers and sub sound best based on where you are sitting in a room.
-
My room is 13' x 20', and I'm sure these speakers could easily fill a larger room with a suitable receiver.
-
So this subwoofer must be used with a compatible home theater receiver
-
I purchased an inexpensive (170) Yamaha receiver here on Amazon to go with it, and I bought a set of Atlantic speaker stands for the fronts ($40).
-
But turning the Amp up a little higher is not a big deal and the Receiver has been very happy in it's low ventilation area, and is in no danger of overheating
-
Using this with $190 sony receiver incredible
-
Please keep in mind that the receiver driving these makes the world of difference, so do not burn these speakers with a bad review if your a driving them through a crappy receiver.
-
Get a solid receiver and you will love this just as much as I have
-
I never heard the the receiver sound that good before
-
If you use a decent receiver and use the Dolby PLII or other processing for surround sound, you'll truly enjoy these.
-
I have limited my receiver to only half the volume but found these are loud enough.
-
Make sure you buy the right receiver though
-
And make sure the receiver is capable of at least 5.1, but 7.1 or 7.2 is better; read on.2
-
BUT, after we found a good, high end receiver to handle everything we wanted to plug into it, and found the right SETTINGS for the theater
-
Overall a real nice sounding subwoofer when used with the right receiver
-
Please keep in mind that the receiver driving these makes the world of difference, so do not burn these speakers with a bad review if your a driving them through a crappy receiver.
-
definately make sure that you use a good receiver and tweek the Hz and CH levels to refine the sound
-
I love Yamaha home theater receivers, but these speakers are a miss.
-
Save your money if you have a good receiver - this is all you need when it comes to speakers.:-)
-
I am temped to purchase another set with a cheap surround receiver to wire up another room!
-
Just make sure you're using a halfway decent receiver.
-
The receiver works great but this speaker set can’t take any power.
-
They really have no place in a home theatre setting even with a great receiver
-
Keep in mind the sound of these speakers was not due to me using a cheap or low quality receiver
-
As impressive as Yamaha Receiver are, I find it hard to believe that Yamaha Speakers can be such a let down.
-
Awesome sound c
