I owned the smooth q and had to upgrade to this one because I love zhiyun

That is a great feature that the Smooth Q has over the Smooth 4

Until I started playing with the Smooth 4 video quality settings, I didn't clue in that my iPhone 6S could shoot in 4K.- Tried shooting in 4K, but its a storage hog

I originally purchased a Smooth Q gimbal from Zhiyun and had no problems with it

Quality of the smooth 4 feels good, but mine was acting

Build is mostly hard plastic, but robust and will have long life IMHO

It is surprising light and has good build quality, even though it is made of mostly plastic it is a high quality and doesn’t feel cheap.

Sturdy and well built, very easy to use, and my videos look professional

Physically the gimble is well built, feeling very solid, well balance

It is package well in nice protective lightweight case.

When I put my Note on it with its protective Spigen case, the motor kept "giving up" and the phone would sag/drop.

The Smooth 4 comes with a handy small tripod, a charger cable and a useful carrying case

Smooth zooming function 4K video support only on Iphone, not on Android.

All functions of the IOS app are working fine with the gimbal

for the price, it offers lots of convenient functions for filming and doing tricks, i have a lot of fun with it

Absolutely loved the function the look and feel of the product however it specified many special features on the stick such as zoom in zoom out record your basic and simi advanced controls however the application or stick does not function properly even though it’s connected through Bluetooth lucky for

3x3 Pano does not work; it will take all 9 shots and will only stitch together the three middle pictures.

I use it for my iPhone 8+ and it produces some great shots

It works perfect with my iPhone X, I made amazing shots with it

But when it works, it helps make incredibly smooth shots.

Takes some getting used to, but I think it's the biggest plus in making creative shots

I wanted to like this product, but I feel like it is still a work in progress for this company

I really wanted to like this product, but there are 2 features that were part of my requirements to purchase

You would be hard pressed to find a better product for the $$.

The material of the box and the Zhiyun Smooth 4 looks like a solid product material

It's a sturdy device and the battery lasts for a good amount of time

Every smart device, every permission, every absurd permission, allows remote interests that do not put your personal well-being first to influence the device that influences us to an alarming degree

When it worked, it was wonderful, unfortunately, by the end of the shoot, we would have to continually shut it down and power it back up because it would overheat and then disconnect the bluetooth, which would render the device inoperable

The problem: The device has a gear preservation failsafe that will turn it off if it feels too much weight

The device itself works good, but the app required to use it is almost entirely incompatible with everything but iphones

The full features of the gimbals with the ZY play app are not available for Android devices, in particular 4K video

But, being an Android user, I am sad that I am not able to use some of the cool features the ZY app can do as compared to iOS phones.

Great feature set, but it's not yet ready for primetime

After the Smooth 4 shipped on 4/23/18, and after others had received their order and found some features are not available for Android phones (including the note 8); I see the answer to my initial aforementioned question had been changed to reflect that some features are not compatible including 4k video thru the app

A couple features aren't available for samsung phones but other than that it's a wonderful video stabilizer

It makes any video you take with your iPhone look like a professional production

This TOTALLY blocks the phone's lightning port, rendering it impossible for me to use an external microphone when I shoot my videos, and impossible to charge the phone from the battery in the Smooth4 as they

Ultra smooth video, awesome, works with my iPhone 8 plus

I see videos on social media & I cringe at shaky footage

You can keep a smooth video capture with the easy trigger in the back to toggle these 2 important modes.

CONS- once in a while, the gimbal goes limp and stops stabilizing in the middle of shooting

May end up buying another gimbal on this trip and trash the Zhiyun

Once it is fixed it will be the best gimbal on the market.

Using it outside the app, as a "dumb" gimbal in no way justifies the price

If you dont plan on using the app, you'll like this gimbal

I can't speak for Android (I know there are some negative reviews), but for an iPhone this gimbal works great

iPhone 8+.I programmed a piano and it fell limp after 2 seconds

Zhiyun's customer service just told me, iPhone XS Max is not supported

I prefer iPhone 6s because I thing work better with lighter phones

I am using an iPhone 8 and so far I am blown away by this

It is a must have for all video makers if you record on your smart phone.

I can say use Zhiyun smooth 4 couple with your smart phone is even better than DJI osmo+So far I have used with iPhone X, 7plus, 8plus, Samsung galaxy 8, Huawei p10, p20 works like a champ

I added a counter weight and was able to push phone further out to make it work, but not ideal

The smooth 4’s active tracking was very bad, and the pano was very slow

My Zhiyun automatically goes to "sleep" position during time lapse and shuts itself off

The time lapse play back for view, is as if the quality was set to the lowest setting, meaning watching YouTube on a horrible network
