Love these things

I am not a recording expert, or a taper of concerts - I am just a novice with a gopro camera who wants better audio than the gopro can provide...and this thing does it very, very well with minimal effort

Rubber-type buttons are recessed (which some may consider a good thing) and rather difficult to press, especially for someone with larger fingers

That said, it's a minor inconvenience, and the most important thing is the audio quality, which for my purposes the Zoom H1 excels at.

The only thing I find annoying about the device is its appetite for batteries, but I believe recording with the highest possible bitrate all the time probably has something to do with that

this thing is excellent with field recording of audio

This thing is amazing, i love the fact that you can adjust the sensitivity of the microphone, and it only uses one double A battery , over all great product for entry level sound chasers

The only "bad" thing about it is that it comes with a micro SD card of only 2Gb

But it have one negative thing, when you will be shaking a litle bit trigers on the back will be making noise, tht you can hear in the recordind file

Although construction is not super solid, and wind plays havoc with the mics, this thing works!

Very light-weight (which again, some may consider a good thing), total-plastic feel

The knowledge that I could buy a plug-in mike and carry it around with me and just use my cell phone to accomplish the same thing takes a great deal away from this unit's $100 price tag.

How stupid this thing is

The battery door isn't connected unless closed, so it might be an easy thing to lose.

This little thing is very handy and easy to use but for some reason mine drains every battery after a couple uses

the only good thing about this unit is that it is simple to use out of the box.by comparison, this father's day I replaced zoom with a tascam dr-07 mk 2, which for the same price is VASTLY superior.

Even though it is more minimalistic than the other Zoom models, you can control the important things like bitrate, format (WAV and MP3), leveling, lo cut, input levels, and track marking

Heads-up...this thing is very sensitive to handling noise, so if you're going to use the mics, I recommend a shock mount.
