Sometimes it is to support faster speeds, and sometimes it is because the wifi just stops working

It did hit 9 mbs down once, and .8 was the best upload speed

This unit does not combine the two lines into a faster speed, but otherwise works fine.

I liked the speed but disliked the straight up and down size of modum.

Now, having said that we have noticed the overall speed of the internet these days is slower, but do not believe it is this modem

Speed also improved from the older unit.

When I was on their DSL service, I was able to use a Netgear modem/router, but we needed faster speeds

The only good thing I can say is that the speed of this modem over my older modem was better.

modem/routers belong to them and they can program them however they wish and the user can't do anything without risking terrible internet speeds
