Go into the Garmin software app on your smart phone, laptop, or desktop.
My phone is incompatible with Vivofit 3.My conclusion: Garmin Support conclusion doesn't make any sense since the pairing and first 2-3 syncs after changing device settings were successful
Very easy to use, to sync with my smart phone through the Garmin app, and also to Strava.
Returned it, because it requires the use of a smart phone to be fully functional.
Another purchase before I can use this as I do not use a smart phone.
i wouldn't waste my money on it poor tracking of steps on your wrist while walking on a treadmill it won't count and using belt clip still not as accurate as
Lots of good information and, as far as i can tell, pretty accurate
However, today I brought trash and recycling to the transfer station and the same thing happened again
They replaced my broken tracker with a refurbished one (unfortunately that one was broken, today they send out a brand new one, thanks)- I love the App, I have lost a lot of weight and I believe that it was the challenges that I partake in during the week
I'm missing or things that don't work as I thought, but so far I absolutely love it and am so pleased to have a functioning activity tracker again.
The locking mechanism on the band can be a pain to unlock/re-lock (it doesn't turn freely, which can be good if you want it to stay locked, but sometimes, even when locked, it pops out of the hole and comes off the wrist anyway).
The locking mechanism is much improved and syncing is dependable

Continually falls off wrist - the 'new' locking mechanism, which was supposed to be an improvement over the first generation, is ineffective even when the bar is in the 'locked' position.

I am not positive the calories burned is accurate but if they are then it's awesome that I can burn a couple thousand calories by walking 10k steps at work every day.
I realize the tracker does not track my weight lifting, but I figured if my HR monitor is working and it calculates my calories burned, it should also recognize that I am doing "intensity minutes"

My first one popped off (I found it later) and sometimes it bothers my wrist
When we did, we found that my wrist had a two-inch long angry red sore beneath the band because my skin was not dry under the band
I was very pleased with the product until I wore it to an amusement park and it fell off accidentally after I removed my backpack and is now on a stranger's wrist
While not on my wrist its not so bad, but that doesn't help me
I have a smaller wrist, and the small band fits funky on my wrist w the clasp
It's great to see how many steps I've taken and how many calories I've burned
However, I think the Garmin overestimates my sleep hours & underestimates my calories burned
I actually burned around 500 calories during that workout.

A couple of times the locking mechanism on the band has come loose, but I can handle that
Number two if your someone who switches between iPhone you will have trouble syncing to the app having to reset the watch a couple of times can get frustrating
I'm fairly sure I've burned a couple of months off already
The Fitbit displays, charging ports, and band fastener clasps broke for me every couple of months
