I bought this monitor somewhere else since the price on Amazon was significantly higher, but was using the reviews here to figure out what my odds were of getting a defective screen (back light bleed, dead pixels, etc.)

No dead pixels on arrival and the BLB (backlight bleed) isnt bad at all

My color settings were R94 G91 B100, which might get you close if you don't have a calibration tool.update: after a couple days, this monitor developed some pretty annoying backlight bleed originating from about 2" above the lower left corner.

The monitor I received had no dead pixels and very little light bleed in the lower corners

Cons:-Very noticeable backlight bleed in the dark at anything other than the lowest brightness setting.-Less than intuitive

Moreover, there is significant backlight bleed at the bottom right corner (see pic), which is apparently common with this model

The PG279Q worked fine, but had pretty bad backlight bleed and some horrible splotchy white uniformity issues.

I'll have to see how well it performs under different gaming environments, and see whether the replacement monitor has any issues with dead pixels, screen abnormalities or the dreaded yellow black-light bleed.

while you can definitely tell that the monitor is illuminated, it's completely uniform and doesn't have any of these "bleeding" glowing corners

I had the unlucky gamble of getting a panel with obtrusive backlight bleed, especially in the bottom right corner

, I repeat no dead pixels, no back-light bleeding, its just perfect, well almost if you want to count the OSD as a con, I personally don't

When these monitors first showed up, a lot of people were having issues with dead pixels, or backlight bleed, or their monitor was dead on arrival or maybe shortly after

(people taking pictures of this monitor to demonstrate the backlight bleed is not really fair IMO because you need to see if for yourself and people don't crank your brightness to 100%.

Got my monitor today and no dead pixels, no excessive light bleed.

Acer fixed the bad HDMI port and bottom row of pixels appearing at the top of the screen, but not the fuzziness, pixelation, or bad back light bleed, and they introduced one new problem: the top left of the screen is now severely discolored and full of dead pixels

As many others have said, backlight bleed is an issue

it's actually perfect, just the normal glow of a monitor and no backlight bleeding this time

My only warning is that with any IPS Panel you risk having back light bleed

Either I lucked out, or Acer has done a better job with quality control for this monitor: no dead/stuck pixels, no massive backlight bleed, even backlight, etc.

The backlight bleeding on mine is next to none, and the IPS glow, while there, is not really noticeable (and a byproduct of the technology, obviously).

After reading about the terrible black bleed on this monitor I was hesitant on buy it and upon arriving I tested against and all black background and could not see major bleed except for the bottom right which was barely noticeable

I'll just cut to the chase, the bottom right corner has a terrible backlight bleed, the other corners seem fine though

Biggest downfall is the light bleed which is only noticeable during dark scenes
