Fasten your seatbelt: Acer's Predator XB271HU WQHD display is about to turbocharge your gaming experience. This monitor combines jaw dropping specs, IPS panel that supports 144Hz refresh rate, delivering an amazing gaming experience. Also, featuring ...
I had to go through dust particles stuck behind screen, dead pixels, backlight bleed, defective stand, and a very small crack on top bezelOverall:I would definitely recommend purchasing this screen
Let me start by saying the monitor stand weighs a ton, making it feel like an old CRT monitor it's so heavy, but incredibly sturdy as a result and feels like you're getting your monies worth vs a cheap feeling plastic stand
The stand is solid and I love the adjustments, Very easy to do
I knew this going in, but still purchased a very affordable monitor mount a couple of days later because I got sick of how ugly the stand was
All in all though, great stand, good looking monitor, and for me, great quality off of the monitor.

ugh). One G-Sync issue (or maybe just confusion on my part) is that I've set v-sync off in the control panel, but it keeps re-enabling itself somehow
No dead pixels, no yellow color back-light bleed on the corners, and oddly seems as though it performs better than the other one (I was starting to have spotty G-sync performance, but that could also easily be my aging video card - time will tell).I've also managed to balance out the colors between the two monitors, and they're just about identical now.
Great monitor, super fast refresh rate and g-sync works like a champ.
Had issues getting G-SYNC to work, and Acer response was basically "replace your $4000 computer with dual 980s, the monitor could not be at fault".

There is a little bit of discoloration in the bottom right corner (next to power button) but it's not BLB
Dead pixel in the top left corner, huge bleed in the bottom right corner
Ill try again when more are in stock/.UpdateGot another and and the same 3 corners have bad bleeding.
If you are looking straight on, on a complete black screen in a pitch dark room, there is a TINY bit of "bleed" in the bottom right corner
Acer took into account all the complaints about the XB270HU (already a great monitor) and addressed it in this one with no cheap O-ring and no glossy bezel

the viewing angles, the g-sync, lack of any dead pixels, and the excellent base
I built a new system at the same time that I got this, and I can say from experience that this is an excellent gaming monitor

great product the colors look amazing , and gaming on it is a
The viewing angles are nuts, you can view the screen from literally any angle without distorting the picture or losing color unlike with TN panels
The colors and G-Sync are just too good to pass up for me
The colors are crisp and vibrant and the resolution is perfect for gaming

It is without a doubt the best gaming experience I've ever had
The colors are so much richer than my old monitor, its a very fresh experience
Your experience will be better than at 1080p60fps, but by how much depends on the user
Now if you notice it when gaming, watching a movie, or other activities and it is ruining the experience for you than yes absolutely the IPS Glow is too much and you should return it if you can.
I just didn't want to fall into the trap of unnecessarily souring an otherwise positive experience

Speaking of... if you're looking at this monitor, you've probably seen people talking about the IPS glow and backlight bleed, and the issues with QC
I went over it with a fine toothed comb looking at every detail since I was in the Acer lottery.

I bought this monitor while playing through Blood and Wine, and the look of the new bloom in Touissant was at best annoying, at worst downright ugly on my 144hz 1080p BenQ monitor, when compared to the base game

Beautiful resolution- Smooth 144hz in games running at that frame
Very high quality, beautiful crisp resolution and colors, no defects at all.
The good thing is the monitor will probably last a very long time and graphics cards will get better so driving this resolution will get easier and easier
The colors are crisp and vibrant and the resolution is perfect for gaming
Well, when I booted up Battlefield 1 and turned on G-Sync and bumped the resolution, my text and graphics went from blurry mess to crisp, clear, and beautiful, gorgeous graphics

Being an Acer product, and nVidia G-Sync ready, I figured I'd try it out
Had issues getting G-SYNC to work, and Acer response was basically "replace your $4000 computer with dual 980s, the monitor could not be at fault".
n’t recommend buying it specially when you have problem with ur eyes or wearing a glass save you cash guys
Speaking of the features it is exactly what I was looking for when shopping for a new monitor: - IPS (of the 3 panel types, IPS provides the best picture and color reproduction) - I wanted 2K/4K RES (didn't want to stay with 1080p) - NVIDIA GSYNC (prevents screen tearing with no input lag)
ugh). One G-Sync issue (or maybe just confusion on my part) is that I've set v-sync off in the control panel, but it keeps re-enabling itself somehow

The 165Hz overclock as well as G-Sync really makes a difference in games because it is immediately noticeable.
The IPS glow, on the other hand, is fairly severe if not viewed from an optimal angle, and while this isn't very noticeable in normal gaming, it is a bit disturbing.

I'll have to see how well it performs under different gaming environments, and see whether the replacement monitor has any issues with dead pixels, screen abnormalities or the dreaded yellow black-light bleed.
Clocking at 165Ghz and buttery ultra smooth with G-sync that really smooths out game play
The g-sync with my gtx960 (soon a 980ti) works flawlessly and I can definitely feel the difference going from 60hz to 144+hz, and I can safely say I will never be going back

I received mine with zero dead pixels and very minimal backlight bleed
I did not have any dead pixels or backlight bleed, and only minimal IPS glow
When I ordered it, I was worried about them too... however my unit didn't have any backlight bleed and worked completely fine out of the box, and the IPS glow, which I thought might bother the crap out of me... actually doesn't at all

I believe most of people has IPS glow / backlight bleed at the corner or bottom screen due to improper handling.</b

There are no dead pixels or dust and very minor BLB at the right corners, but the top 1/3rd of the screen does have a slight (1-3%) darker/yellow tint compares to the rest of the screen
Pros:-Beautiful 1440p IPS display.-144Hz GSYNC (can OC to 165Hz).-No dead pixels or dust.-Minor BLB at the top-right and bottom-right corner.-Three monitor presets that you can change anytime (I set my presets to 1-general
Mine had a couple dead pixels and dust particles about 5 pixels long in the middle of the screen.
I have no dead pixels, dust or other defects and the monitor arrived well packaged
p)-Easier to clean than traditional monitors because the screen is flat from left to right (not raised bezel like traditional monitors where dust can get trap at the

Know that if you are interested in this monitor or the ASUS ROG with similar specs that they are the same exact panel and both come with higher than normal risk of QC issues
I researched this particular monitor for months before buying, comparing it to the Asus pg279q and reading the most recent forum posts to see if the QC issues had gotten better

I have my colors a bit exaggerated as I like colors to pop in games and movies
when cleaning).Cons:-Slight uniformity issue (1-3% darker/yellow tint on top 1/3rd of the screen).-Videos can have "frames-jump" effect (read above paragraphs).-OSD settings is a bit clunky and requires too many button pressings to change something.-Sometimes you have to press the power button several times to turn on/off (see tip below for a "

The colors are amazing, their is ZERO black light bleed, in a dark room the IPS glow is non existent
There is some silverish IPS Glow but it doesn't extend too far from the corners and you have to do the dark room, black screen test in order to see it.
How often are you going to stare at a black screen in a dark room?
No dead or stuck pixels, very little BLB on a black screen in a dark room not even noticable otherwise
If you have to ask someone if your dark room/black screen test has too much IPS Glow than it most likely isn't bothering you because you don't need to ask someone else if something bothers you.
