Once our last unit quit working, I began searching on Amazon and came across this incredible home weather station, with all the bells and whistles on it, including rainfall amounts (it empties itself) and outside unit is solar, no need for electricity

The weather station is not as good as stations I've had in the past.

Only complaint is that the temp sensor may read higher in the summer than the actual outside temp due to the sun warming the weather station.

The actual device that sits outside is on my balcony which is only about four or five feet away from the actual LED screen weather station

The AcuRite units are decent, low cost weather stations, where the main problem is with the aspirator fan and solar panel that powers the fan
