    • The screw on the back of the latching portion can be loosened to allow the hook portion to go deeper and hook the back of one of the vent fins.
    • The vent fin on a sonata is about 1 inch deep
    • I was concerned I'd break the fin, but apparently they are pretty strong in the Civic.
    • You need to make sure you have the right vent fins.

    • Second thing, they will pull off, (there is a pincher flip flap that you flip to attach to the vent - flip to one side and it clips to a thicker vent fin - the other flip is for a thinner vent fin.

    • The hooked grip end gives a very secured grip to the vent fin
    • Finally decided to buy a new one, hoping I'd pick one that that would attach solidly to the vent fins, allow the phone to stay at the perfect angle, and not be a pain in the rear to put in...and remove from...the cradle
