The product is fantastic for this purpose but you need to put in effort to get a nice result

I believe I would get the same great result, the key is after you adhere your patch YOU MUST put something some what heavy on the affected area to really secure that sucker on there

These definitely don't provide a like new look, but seem to work well and the result is better than I expected.*UPDATE
