I wouldn't want it to be my only keyboard as I am a piano player but for the road it's an awesome tool.

This is a great little tool

The Akai LPK25 is a great, great tool for laptop music production.-It's about on par with its similar competitors price-wise, but completely beats them out in look, feel, and portability.-The realistic torque on the keys and velocity sensing make live recording on a DAW incredibly easy, since you can have it sound exactly like you want the first time around.-The LPK25 Editor software that it comes with is very basic, and doesn't offer a whole lot of program changing options but is still very functional especially if you frequently use an arpeggiator in your music.-The tap tempo doesn't work very well for me, which I'm thinking may just be my model as I see others have success with it

This won't matter if you're using mono synths or organs or whatnot, but be aware that this tool isn't going to inspire much expressive or dynamic creativity
-
I'm returning it because it isn't useful as a tool for composing
-
This is an excellent songwriting tool, that makes music making on the go a reality
-
I purchased this because one of the reviews said it was a great tool for composing
-
While this is a very useful tool, it is designed very cheaply
-
An excellent tool to develop ideas, particularly if you (like me) are lacking serious keyboard skills.-USB POWERED
-
I think it is a brilliant tool for musicians to use, but since I just got it to play around on, I don't really use it much
-
In my opinion, this feels like one of those cheap-o keyboards for kids that you can buy at Walmart
