I have used the gate feature with the Tom Cat, the Rhythm Wolf and the Timbre Wolf to impressive effect as the gate step can be changed

some of the knobs (notably the tune knobs) don't really have a profound effect on the drum sounds on their own, but perform nicely when run through a synth or sound module
