The good:Over ear design and leather headband make for a comfortable set of cans
-
Replaceable/Upgradable earpadsCons- Self-adjusting fit is a bit finicky- Semi-open design can bleed quite a bit of noise into your surroundingsBottom line: This is a fantastic set of cans for a ridiculously low price.
-
I wound up buying my wife and sone a set as well
-
I bought a set of the original "Made in Austria" K240's back in 1998, and they finally died after 12 years of solid service all over the world.
-
They are just as good as a $300 set of headphone's
-
but if you pass these by just because you don't think they look groovy, then you're going to miss a fantastic set of headphones.
-
At the price these are you aren't going to find a better set of headphones, period.
-
If you're looking for an open back headphone or are just looking for a nice set of headphones to listen to in the evening, you could do far worse than these
-
I also use the Shure 440's closed headphones, which is an awesome set of headphones, but become uncomfortable after using them after a short while.
-
You wont find a better set of headphones unless your willing to pay over
-
I recommend to anyone looking for a good set of studio headphones that won't break the banks.
-
This is a great set if you want a reasonable price for excellent sound
-
Like them so much I purchased another set of them.
-
I replayed the M50x's with the closed back and wondered "could the Sony's really be obviously a better set of headphones?"
-
I bought a set of replacement velvet covers to replace the leatherette ones and they worked great.
-
For the money, you're getting a great set of headphones, I can and have recommended them to many people
-
Decent sound, but not as loud as my previous one set of headphones (using same settings)
-
If you are looking for a nice set for your studio or guitar/keyboard practice set up and don't want to spend $150 or more, you really can't go wrong for the money.
-
it's a decent set of headphones.**Update
-
I've heard better headphones anyway, but for the price these are a great set of headphones for studio and general use.
-
These are just a very poor set of headphones for the money, and I would advise staying away from this model.
-
You probably won't find a better set of headphones at ANY price.
-
but if you pass these by just because you don't think they look groovy, then you're going to miss a fantastic set of headphones.
-
This is a very good set of headphones for someone who wants good sound from small devices without the need for a headphone amp.
-
I have a set of these from the mid-80s and love them.
-
You may search high and low, pay a king's ransom for trendy, colorful set of cans, but you will NEVER (let me repeat it for the sake of clarity:) EVER find better more transparent and true-to-the-source set of phones
-
Replaceable/Upgradable earpadsCons- Self-adjusting fit is a bit finicky- Semi-open design can bleed quite a bit of noise into your surroundingsBottom line: This is a fantastic set of cans for a ridiculously low price.
-
You can't get a better set without doubling down
-
Nice set of headphones
-
I have a preferred set, but overall these are the pair I use most often
-
This is a great sounding set but the volume level is a little low for my taste.
-
The only point of buying a set of headphones this large is comfort
-
I needed a better set of headphones to use for guitar practice and home recording that didn't break the bank, but still had good sound without too many highs or lows.
-
Great set of phones for those of us who cannot afford the really expensive headphones the serious recording studios use.
-
My new pair of 240's sound as good as my original set and they are all I will ever use to mix and master my music tracks.
-
These are semi-open/open so they aren't really meant to be used as a portable set, but I do like to listen to music while I read, and these wouldn't be my first choice if I just had my phone to power them.
-
If you are looking for a set of headphones that will equal a good set of speakers--these are not those
-
If you want and insanely good sounding set of cans for (well) under $100, this is a sure bet
-
I don't believe you can get a better set of professional-quality studio reference headphones for the money than the K240.
-
This set is better for people that have at least 4 headphones and are looking for a treble detailed set.
-
I don't think that you can purchase a better set of headphones for the money, although, I think these are being replaced by the 240MKII's, which interestingly has the same specs as the 240Studio.
