AKG K702 Reference Class Studio Headphones

    • Some of the best things in life are so in-
    • It's not cheap, but it's worth the price tag if quality is the most important thing for you.
    • The first thing that caught my eye was the absence of the notation "Made in Austria", so prominently embossed on the earpieces of the K702 and other similar AKG product photos shown on Amazon.
    • Yes better than the HE400's which are darker (not necessarily a bad thing)
    • I have been slowly learning the hobby of home audio the past few years, and I must say, these headphones are on the top three best things I have done.
    • And I purchased a 3 meter cable when I purchased the headphones, which was a good thing because the headphones, at least the ones I received, did not come with a cable
    • The only thing wrong with these headphones is their build quality
    • And the highs, while they can be too much in some songs, feel like you're not missing a thing
    • It was the best thing I every did
    • I picked these up because I saw the lower price tag ($255? c'mon), and while it is the most I have ever spent on a pair of headphones, these things are GLORIOUS
    • One thing I don't like is that it's not really practical to wear these headphones around your neck when they're not being used
    • The AKG K702 cans may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I bought them based on assumptions that turned out not to be true and I can't avoid the feeling that I've been played.
    • Most people don't understand what things should really sound like.
    • I was hesitant to purchase them because I've heard so many good things about Beats By Dre, but after some research I made a decision that I don't regret at all
    • Forget the 400+ hour "wear-in" time you may read about, these things sounded amazing out of the box; they may not have had an adequate setup
    • I LOVE how comfortable these things are
    • I was a bit taken aback the first day I had them, but like most things worth my time, they grew on me.
    • Sad thing is, both of those have better ratings, and combined only cost $20 more than these
    • These things sound like rain
    • The main thing I found repeated in various ways as far as feedback goes, was the lack of hard hitting bass.
    • One excellent thing, when tilting my head backwards (lying on a recliner), or forward (catching something on the floor), the head band stays in place, it doesn't pivot by its own weight, which one thing that infuriates me with the Sennheiser HD 598 and other headphones
    • The band is all plain leather, but it is just a hard leather band, with what looks like cushions, but hard cushions, I can feel them, not pleasant at all!The only good thing is that the head band is durable, I can trust it would keep hurting my head equally for a long time with so sign of
    • , They will be on non stop for the next 4 days and I will update with my conclusion, but just after 3 hours of near rms power they are the best sounding headphones I have personally heard, I expect great things
    • These things are extremely clear!
    • Every thing is so much better on these headphones then the less
    • I can have full conversations while wearing these headphones, as ridiculous as I may look.
    • , i've never really heard about this "burning in" myth but 3-4 weeks in i definitely hear a difference as far as tracks that were a bit hot/distorted when i listened 3 weeks ago at a loud but capable level are now cleaner and can take the same volume levels, might be placebo who knows, the china move to have these made over there from Austria must be why the price is so low as they do initially lightweight and "plastic" but keep in mind these are meant to be used in studios not thrown in backpacks and worn on public transportation, the brainwaves pads added some weight that makes them feel more "expensive" in a way, however the key component, the driver seems to not have been compromised for cheaper parts like the housing/build as i a/b tested these with an Austrian built pair my buddy
