Alesis SR18 | High-Definition Multi-Sampled Electronic Drum Machine with Dynamic Articulation & Effects Engine

    • Can't beat this for useable drum patterns that are very configurable, after a few YouTube instruction videos.
    • Still a great product if your'e looking for a portable drum machine with up to date sounds.
    • I now use this amazing drum machine as my default effect engine for my live gigs
    • Number 3, reiterating Number 1, if you are a guitarist or keyboardist... really... the ability to have bass involved as well as drums is AWESOME.
    • I bought this after selling a Boss 670 drum machine that had really funky, Loud and unusual drum patterns (had great tone, clearity, rich sound) that I could never figure out how to do anything with it, other then change tempo, volume and a/b pattern switch
    • Excellent drum box
    • You play the drums just like the real ones.
    • Good drum
    • In the end the better sounds of a good drum machine, while not always as organic as you'd like still lead to a better sounding demo most of the time compared to live drums in a home demo situation.
    • Sounds like a real drum, terrific sound
    • You will probably need to read the manual and keep it handy for reference, but I can't imagine any modern drum machine being much easier to use
    • To sum up, it is a great sounding machine with immense technical possibilities, and it takes some effort to decipher the instructions, especially if you, like me, are interested mainly in an easy to use, good sounding drum and bass backup.
    • Since I play metal, this is VERY important, since it's hard to find a good drum machine that can go with the metal genre
    • Unless I received an older model, which I certainly did not hope for, then they have not improved on THE ONLY negative to this great drum machine
    • Still a great drum sound the most realistic
    • As a musician that really doesn't care for playing with others as well as just a electronic-instrument enthusiast I decided on grabbing a drum machine rather than dealing with another person and their hefty drum kit when I started a band a few years ago
    • don't plan on being able to create intricate drum patterns, you will be lucky to make simple, rudimentary beats and timings
    • Would easily recommend for this as well as any other drum machine purposes.
    • The SR-18 does not have this cool feature either, the sounds are good, lots of cool presets but drum machines still have a very long way to go before I will get too excited, I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade. ?
    • The reasons I plowed through all this frustration were 1) customer ratings and comments, 2) the lack of a reasonably priced competitive drum machines, and 3) the sounds were actually good enough for my limited
    • But as a manual drum machine it works ok.
    • It is a good drum machine for the money
    • the sr 16 is one of the most popular drum machines ever, so I have read, I owned one, still do, and it is simple and easy to use and sounds good
    • I often attach my V drums or triggers to the machine as well to expand my kit options
    • I sold mine on craigslist and bought a BeatBuddy -- which is seriously the most perfect drum machine for musicians ever.
    • are some great drum pad sounds, and a much better electronic drum selection
    • I have a real drumset and mics and processors and let me tell you trying to record good sounding acoustic drums is a nightmare.
    • a perfect drum machine for a guitarist that needs a backing drum track he can create, or other forms of music
    • Alesis SR-16 is probably the most affordable drum machine on market, if I am not mistaken.
    • Great drum machine
    • I love this drum
    • I would say that my aptitude and experience for electronics hovers slightly below average, yet with less than 2 or 3 hours invested I was getting monstrous results with this beautiful drum machine.
    • Terrible synthetic sounding drums
    • Number 1, if you are a guitarist who has to jam alone a lot, you are going to absolutely love this thing because of the fact that you can get some really nice drum and bass going on at the same time.
    • this is probably the most used drum machine, top 20 EASY, ever
    • The SR-16 definitely has some realistic drum voices, but I've decided to hook it up via MIDI with the Roland and use it as a sound module extension
    • It has excellent drum sounds, plenty of cool drum patterns, and many usable drum kits
    • Great accompanying drums for a guitar duo
    • so this is the upgrage for guitarists and bedroom musicians that want to create music with better sounding drums
    • I have a real drumset and mics and processors and let me tell you trying to record good sounding acoustic drums is a nightmare.
