Alesis SR18 | High-Definition Multi-Sampled Electronic Drum Machine with Dynamic Articulation & Effects Engine

    • this macinee is the best e z to op great sound whalt
    • I love the sounds this box contains
    • The sound is good, and the pre sets are ok.
    • But, if you just want to make some beats that sound really nice, keep them in your bag, and not get all complicated, then this thing is great.
    • Id give it a 5 if the sounds were fatter.
    • The sound is great and ease of use is ok
    • great sound
    • Not only are the sounds far more realistic on the SR-18, but Alesis seemed to have recorded the grooves into the machine with a real drummer playing a drum pad kit
    • it doenst save very well, seems once saved, the original is there forever... but still one can create patterns you can save in in cubase, magix or samplitude or another recording program once youve done your program to be sure except for future tempo changees could be off and funny sounding
    • I'm new to drum machines, it is easy to program and the sound is great
    • I don't like the bass and sounds on the included drum beats, since some of them sound good, but you have a silly bassline dictating the key,
    • If it could only have some cool base sounds.
    • Why couldn't you just give us the same great functionality of the SR-16, but with better sounds?
    • I was thrilled when i first got it, however the sound was not working at all
    • In the end the better sounds of a good drum machine, while not always as organic as you'd like still lead to a better sounding demo most of the time compared to live drums in a home demo situation.
    • a couple G's of force to get Audible sounds out of the pads!
    • Sounds like a real drum, terrific sound
    • I've been using a Roland R-5 for a long time and decided I wanted some fresh sounds
    • you could treat it like an sr 16 with better sound, and that's fine, but they have added plenty of cool stuff like the effects and other things, that make it worth learning how to use to its
    • I was jamming with dozens of different drums (of which MOST of the sounds are decent sounding and usable if you're a rock/punk/metal musician), recording beats and generally just enjoying my time with the device
    • in fact, other than being able to be critical of the snare sounds available, though they are okay to good to great, there isn't much to complain about this device
    • it doenst save very well, seems once saved, the original is there forever... but still one can create patterns you can save in in cubase, magix or samplitude or another recording program once youve done your program to be sure except for future tempo changees could be off and funny sounding
    • The sound, though, is much superior to the Zoom RT 223 I had been using
    • great sounding
    • cause you immediately start doing stuff a drummer could never do, like hi hat/snare/cymbal/some other sound
    • I love the sounds this machine makes
    • As some have said, right away you can hear the improvement in the sound, not that the SR16 sounded bad... but this sounds great.
    • From the moment I got it, I locked myself in the studio and have been replacing the crappy sounds on the other drum
    • Great Sound !!
    • The SR-18 does not have this cool feature either, the sounds are good, lots of cool presets but drum machines still have a very long way to go before I will get too excited, I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade. ?
    • Nice sounds
    • The reasons I plowed through all this frustration were 1) customer ratings and comments, 2) the lack of a reasonably priced competitive drum machines, and 3) the sounds were actually good enough for my limited
    • Very good sound
    • I bought this after selling a Boss 670 drum machine that had really funky, Loud and unusual drum patterns (had great tone, clearity, rich sound) that I could never figure out how to do anything with it, other then change tempo, volume and a/b pattern switch
    • Great sounds they are very authenic and the machine is very versital
    • are some great drum pad sounds, and a much better electronic drum selection
    • On the plus side the sr18 has VERY good sound
    • Good, not great sound, my
    • Realistic sound
    • Drums sounds are top notch – bass sounds are decent and work fine for me.
    • I wish Alesis would just update this one, give us better sounds and a few more beats, but retain the ease of use.
    • Classic sounds and easy to use
    • great sound, affordable price, well constructed, Midi works great, simple to use..get one now
    • Terrible synthetic sounding drums
    • Aside from the manual, which needs a lot of improvement, this is a good machine with good sounds
    • Has rich sounding tones and sounds like a real drummer and not canned.
    • To sum up, this is a great self-contained drum machine that gives you a lot of power, flexibility, and good sound for a not-ridiculous price
    • if you play guitar and are into music like that, this is the better choice, plus if you are into electronic music, there are some cool sounds too, though most people making that music have tons of options with computers and software like fruity loops and all that stuff
    • It has excellent drum sounds, plenty of cool drum patterns, and many usable drum kits
    • The sound is great, drum machine or not, I have purchased several computer-based drum machines, and they sound great, but I hate to spend the time to program them
    • Love the sounds it has!
