    All-Clad E86199 Stainless Steel Tea Kettle, 2-Quart, Silver

    • It looked beautiful out of the box but over the year developed rust spots and discoloration.
    • My only gripe: slight discoloration (TINY) on the outside near the bottom
    • We got this Tea Kettle because our previous cheap one developed rust and discoloration on the inside from our hard water and ocean air.
    • Now, only a few weeks later, the problem has recurred, plus now we are noticing tarnishing (yellow/gray discoloration) on the exterior
    • All-Clad has that extra wow factor that turns everyday kitchen instruments into lavish décor.
    • I prefer the shiny S/S finish to the brushed finish.
    • The pouring spout gets super-heated during the boil so that when pouring it causes the water to re-boil as it comes up the spout, spattering boiling hot water in all directions (again, where the wooden spoon handle helps)On the rare occasion that the whistle does work, it's pretty feeble, and inaudible over the stove's exhaust fan, so you pretty much have to watch the kettle while its on (which of course results in a watched pot never boiling).2 stars for looks, capacity and heat retention (but if minor burns is your kink, then you could tack on a couple more stars).
