All-Clad E86199 Stainless Steel Tea Kettle, 2-Quart, Silver

    • works, heats fast, sturdy, what I wanted-something that is useful not junk.
    • I simply could not find one that would really last under intense heat and they usually had some sort of plastic for the handle and around the pouring spout (Chantal, OXO).
    • Base design assures fast, efficient heating.
    • This one is very well made and will last forever, heats quickly, looks great.
    • The pouring spout gets super-heated during the boil so that when pouring it causes the water to re-boil as it comes up the spout, spattering boiling hot water in all directions (again, where the wooden spoon handle helps)On the rare occasion that the whistle does work, it's pretty feeble, and inaudible over the stove's exhaust fan, so you pretty much have to watch the kettle while its on (which of course results in a watched pot never boiling).2 stars for looks, capacity and heat retention (but if minor burns is your kink, then you could tack on a couple more stars).

    • This kettle heats the water pretty quickly (I only use enough for 25-40 oz for coffee for my French press)
    • You also need a pot holder to pick it up because the steal transfers the heat to the handle.
    • This is a beautiful kettle that heats quickly
    • Sturdy, heats water, holds heat, easy to clean, looks pretty
    • Fast heating, easy cleaning, rugged kettle
