Basically, this is a useless device, because without the Alexa App on a smart phone, I cannot configure it.

Amazon's smartplugs are added directly into the Alexa app and are the best voice command devices I have used!

Hopefully, these devices I purchased will not fail prematurely as some recently designed and sold electronic apparatus have done.

This was the easiest set up of any “smart” device I have ever used.

How the heck do they have the right to break my devices after purchase

Everyone who uses Alexa smart home technology is familiar with the download app, go through ridiculously silly device setup, then enabling a skill.

I plugged it into an outlet and within a few seconds the Alexa app on my phone recognized it as a new device, prompted me to give it a name, and I was all set!

I am now capable of rebooting and resetting in my sleep every wifi related device I own from my router on down.

Not nearly as easy as setting up Alexa or other smart home devices.

Since others have managed to setup the Amazon plug, I'll stick with a 1 for the product (it appears that the device itself was working) and 0's for software auto-detection, incorrect setup instructions, and failure to clearly specify 2.4G only, compatibility
