Plastic can crack if you tighten joints too hard

It's made of cheap recycled plastic and there's no way it has any lasting quality

Arrived with the plastic boom joint already snapped in half, rendering it a huge paperweight.

They have a metal tripod base which is nice, perhaps it would be nice to have a metal top clamp too (though the plastic is working great) and an even lower price

This thing uses shoddy plastic parts, and for some reason the part you screw the microphone on is detachable

I don't know about other reviewers, maybe it's hit or miss but mine came and it didn't feel like cheap plastic, felt like pretty sturdy aluminum with reasonable tightness and sturdiness

The metal of the stand is good quality but the adjustments are cheaply built with cheap plastic and can't tighten enough to hold even a super lightweight mic in a boom position beyond a few degrees off of vertical

I've played with them for a couple of hours and am happy to see that the main plastic fail points of the cheaper stands are metal on the Amazon stand

When I opened the box, the plastic where the boom part of the stand meets the straight part was already cracked/broken on both sides and the moment I pulled it out of the box it snapped in half

It's a little lighter than some other mic stands of a similar size (due to its use of hard plastics rather than aluminum), but as long as you're smart about how you set it up, it should work for whatever mic arrangement you could possibly want.

The plastics like the tightening knobs feel a bit cheap like the can break if you overnight so becareful with that.

Last time Itried to cheap out on $20 mic stands I got burned by cheap plastic components that cracked and broke with only moderate studio use
