I have a 160 GB mobile hard drive in the NVR

I bought my own hard drive and installed it in my Amcrest's NVR.

I use mobile hard drives because they are quieter than desktop

I've been running this camera 24/7 and i have to say that it doesn't use alot of hard drive space which is nice,

I have it set up to record to my computers hard drive for a hard copy backup

and it is recording 4 cameras continuously to my hard drive and rolling off the old data and that works good.

There is one You Tube video that says Motion Detection Video can't be stored on your PC hard drive

I have called their Tech support for help recording to my hard drive and Jay was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I wouldn't recommend this camera to anyone that did not have a hard drive hooked to it and all the time to sit and review the recordings for what should have been events.

The software offers much flexibility with motion detection, scheduling, alarms, ...Video can be saved on an SD chip on the camera, on my desktop computer hard drive, and "in the cloud."I was able to set the camera up so that I could view live, and record when there is motion detected

The first camera was sent back after I was told the hard drive must have failed when updating.

I won't need to purchase terabyte hard drives for this application
