The 720p cameras have a nice picture but this blows them out of the water when you are looking at distant objects, the extra pixels really punch the detail up which is exactly what I was looking for because I have a fence that gets hit and run quite often in the winter (the stretch of fence runs from 20 feet away from the camera out to 60 feet and the image quality is great).

The night vision definitely does not provide as good of a quality image compared to other cameras I had - the IR beam is to focused for the wide angle the lens can see and the picture looks just to grainy (it was recommended to change form VBR to CBR, to resolve that - I'll have to test this in the next few days).
