    Amped RTA2600-R2 Wireless Athena-R2 High Power AC2600 Wi-Fi Router with MU-MIMO

    • but I never seen a router work this bad on the first day
    • I had to buy a powered switch with my old router, which only had 2 ports- a lot of the modern routers are putting fewer ports on the devices, but this one has 4.It has activity lights
    • However, as wireless routers continue to creep well above several hundred dollars price point and this router at almost $225 after tax continues to support that trend
    • It is such a little thing but a simple little design flaw too many modern routers have
    • To counter this, I recommend you explore refreshing your router with DD-WRT which is an open-source code for routers and is supported by the internet community at large.
    • apparently they have the only routers compatible with that extra (still free) software
    • If you need a better router than what your cable company leases to you, this is a great router
    • My old router would lay down and die if I opened up 30 or so webpages at once for my 'sweepstakes hobby.
    • Any high end router is going to have limited packet loss unless you have a lot of interference of are overwhelming it, when I say we punish our routers, I'm greatly understating it.
    • Additionally, I think the slim profile that this unit presents is easier on the eyes than some of the giant router boxes (especially if this is going to be visible somewhere). All in all, it's a great router at a price point just lower than the top end TPLINK routers.
    • Worst router ever!
    • , in fact I think it was the most expensive router I've had
    • The Athena -R2 is a modern WiFi router
    • Please take a look at the firmware history of some of these expensive routers and you'll see that the firmware really only gets updated once and then the product is declared end of life and there will be no more updates
    • I don't think I've ever had a router this easy to install
    • This is one powerful router.
    • really the computer has become the limiting factor now instead of the router, and I had a fairly nice expensive router that was just a year old
    • MU-MIMOYou have to remember that these advertised speeds leverage MU-MIMO (multiple user, multiple input, multiple output) which is a newer technology that requires BOTH the router and your main device (whether your xbox, playstation, tablet, iphone, etc) to also support MU-MIMO technology
    • really the computer has become the limiting factor now instead of the router, and I had a fairly nice expensive router that was just a year old
    • The only thing I like about it is that it gives you all of the settings in a more technical way instead of a user friendly way that newer smart routers use now
    • Once Amped works out the dropped network issue, this will be a great router.
