Large batteries are still not available for this new camera, so the Anker works really well for doing long video shoots

Anker was kind enough to send me a replacement and I am in the process of testing the new one.

Granted there may be a compatibility issue in trying to use the anker portable charging bank with a laptop but it should at least charge a phone

Okay, at this point you may be thinking "you liked Anker external batteries enough to buy a second (actually at least third) one despite having one fail, and this one's a bit slippery, but that doesn't justify taking two stars off the rating." That said, this is still a solid Anker product and will certainly charge your phone faster than the default 5W charger, but it won’t charge recent iPhones (8, X, etc) as fast as possible

My samsung galaxy S6 reports "fast charging" though I don't know if it's as fast as with the samsung wall charger.
