    • The first time I accidentally bumped the screen into the side of a table and the screen cracked
    • The color is fairly washed out and the drivers that you can get from AOC for a mac do not have the on screen programming or capability to adjust contrast, brightness, etc.

    • Traveled with it using the protective screen provided and the screen broke

    • The screen is convenient to use and works well.
    • Screen isn't super clear, but more than adequate for a work PC
    • I would give this five stars except for the color controls, the lack of vesa mounting point, and no sort of hard cover to protect the screen during transport

    • This is a pretty great deal at $120.Small cons:*I wish it were slightly lighter*Semi-glossy screen
    • This screen works just like I hoped it would
    • This is a good screen when it is connected but it has already gotten very frustrating trying to get the cord to stay in place and not disconnect.
    • The screen will frequently disconnect if you bump the monitor
    • Now the cons:- glossy screen
    • I have not used this monitor for up to 3 months and the screen has got a crack already
    • My MacBook Pro has a resolution of 1920 x 1200.Trying as hard as I could to love this little screen, the disparity in screen size makes it unusable

    • I have to use a Macbook for a coding course and the screen is very bright, so to look back at this one with its

    • I do love this screen
    • I may add something thin but stiff, to keep my bulky backup contents from crushing the screen, which would be my only concern

    • I've only had the product for less than a year and the screen is giving me issues
    • The screen was easy to install and worked great for the firs couple of months.
    • , the screen no longer works (just streaky lines).
    • I would recommend this monitor as an additional screen for people who need an additional screen for work or play.
    • I dislike that if you sit under the monitor and look up at it, you can see the screen waving and refreshing but it still works
    • Comment added after some months: I have almost not used this screen, especially because there are problems with the USB connection - the screen often does not work (the cable connection between the computer and the screen does not work), and the screen has so bad quality that I prefer not to use it
    • I would not try to play games on it, but for us power users that miss our 4th and 5th office screen, this 2nd screen is great.
    • Good screen/resolution and weight
    • If you are using a Mac laptop then this screen might be annoying to use the first couple of days, but you get used to the brighten.
    • Great little second screen for laptop just the right size for companion screen.
    • The first time I traveled with this thing the screen broke
    • Next I woke up and plugged it in after receiving it back and the screen was damaged with half of the pixels missing
    • Now, when I plug it in, the welcome AOC screen will pop up, but then the screen goes black
    • Unable to fix it, so will be looking to return the monitor (if possible). Also, blurry screen, painful on the eyes
    • I get so many questions about this slick little screen!
    • It is so much easier having a second screen while working from home.

    • At first it worked great as my second screen, but now it flickers on and off, mostly the screen turns black while I am working on multiple documents
    • Excellent screen.
    • The sleeve it comes with has protected screen thus far (4 months) shoving into the front pocket of my laptop bag
    • I have had this portable screen for about two weeks
    • Something shifted in my trunk and broke the screen
    • Other than that, it's a good, portable screen, but you might find a better solution elsewhere.
    • Great as a second screen
    • The necessary hassle for this superb screen would be that it needs an additional software to adjust the screen brightness.
    • The only word of caution is that the soft sided sleeve that comes with it leaves the screen vulnerable to damage, so you just need to make you pack it up accordingly with nothing to press against the screen.
    • The screen is huge for a portable monitor and I love that fact.
    • Screen is sharp and makes working with multiple windows a breeze.
    • Stays put more or less to protect the screen, but NOT to act as a stand as pictured
    • Made cardboard cutouts to help further protect screen within the neoprene sleeve.
    • This screen is not usable and I will be replacing it.
    • Internal screen broken and unusable right out of the box.
    • the screen now works sometimes and often drops in and out seemingly at random
    • Writing this review mostly to let people know that this AOC-E1659Fwu screen is compatible with the Bontend tablet stand (see pictures)
    • The first screen broke while it was in my work backpack (inside protective case).
    • BUT, for now, it's a great second screen for my laptop and gives me a functional second office when I'm traveling.

    • Good Quality screen
    • It's pretty bad@$$ working dual screen at a coffee shop or on an airplane.
    • The screen flickers a lot
    • Screen started to work, however it could not be rotated
    • I used the thing for only 6 hours before the screen started flickering and eventually shut off completely.
    • I cracked screen on laptop ordered one to fix
    • It fits in my bag, it needs no power supply, the screen is clean and crisp, the graphics could be a little sharper, but over-all, considering the weight, price and USB connections....love it.
    • The screen viewable angle is pretty awful but a nice little mobile addition.
    • Love this screen for work
    • I thought having two monitors was great yet having three screens makes me even more productive than I could have imagined
    • In addition, there is a noticeable lag in the refresh rate, so again, stick with static screens.
    • That being said, the screen and picture quality were a tiny blurry, like a screen made back in the '90s ... which was fine for me
    • I am a developer who likes having separate screens to write code while seeing the changes on my website
    • The screens crack super easily and warranties (both from the manufacturer and third-party warranties
    • It needs a hard surface to protect the screen while travelling
    • It also came with a case to protect the screen for traveling purposes
    • As a precaution, I intend to cut a piece of foam board to fit the sleeve and cover it with soft fabric to protect the screen from damage from luggage mishandling and bumps in public places
    • I called for warranty support and the person on the phone said that internal screen was damaged and that would not covered by the warranty.
    • I highly recommend an anti-glare screen protector.
    • One draw back and the only reason it's not a 5 start is that a monitor this size is fairly easy to crack the screen if you travel
    • Apparently the stress of being in my bag was enought to crack the screen.
    • It is a great second screen demo monitor--superlight, good enough looking.
    • The screen works okay as a second monitor, but I couldn't get the auto-pivot feature to work even after installing the recommended drivers a few different times
    • It looks like a nice screen aesthetically, it's light and comes with a magnetic cover
    • Great plug-n-play screen
    • Great screen for the money!
    • Perfecto, low cost, good little screen
    • The screen is about the same size as the laptop so it works great, but the resolution isn't even close (which I expected for the price).
    • so there are no extra cables you have to carry, and it's got a good screen quality for what I needed.
    • The screen could be clearer but it does the job
    • The screen cracked easily
    • Nice screen, nice carrying case
    • As soon as I upgraded on my Mac the screen stopped working and without a driver the screen is now useless
    • Four stars for the difficulty of set up and the screen black out issue.
    • The screen constantly gives twitchy shake at 1920x1080, and frantically blinks at 1280x720.My chromebook has no problem with other USB-C to HDMI dongles
    • but I have to admit, it's is a light, handy monitor with a good screen when it works.
    • Great screen, met all my expectations
    • This screen is really quite nice.
    • and I finally cracked the screen.
    • When you plug it in, the screen shakes and goes dark
    • It will also flash a longer, more annoying screens between red and
    • screen too bright for me with NO BRIGHTNESS or CONTRAST controls and; in fact, NO controls at all
    • The set-up was easy, the screen is crystal-clear and it fits inside my backpack, right alongside my laptop.
    • The screen has good clarity and brightnessIt's the least expensive 1080p, IPS, usb portable monitor that you can get
    • The external screen sets up easily and works fine.
    • Screen broke after a few uses and one time traveling with the monitor
    • The monitor does not work with my Mac Book Air, The screen flickers off anon but will not connect
    • Clear screen, excellent travel monitor.
    • If you need a dual screen and are not relying on it for art type projects, you will love this updated AOC screen.
    • It is light, sturdy, easy-to-use, and very clear screen
    • The perfect second screen for on the road
    • , I was hoping for a better screen clarity.
    • I can have a small, light, portable screen to work from home with
    • The screen is great
    • I like the weight and the resolution compared to other portable screens
    • After a few emails where I sent the receipt and the above picture of the failed screen, I was told that a UPS slip would be emailed to me, and I would use that to send the old, defective screen to AOC for a new, functional screen
    • -Screen could be a little brighter, but not a huge issue-The "case" is just a cover for the monitor, I would recommend getting a large case to put the screen in
    • This screen is very fragile
    • Even with provided soft case, I still feel that I will break the screen someday in my notebook backpack.
    • Screen is very sensitive to movement
    • One day I took the monitor out of the case and the screen looked damaged
    • So sad as I actually love the screen.
    • The screen wasn't super sharp, but I thought it was sharp enough for occasional use
    • I figured two screens were better than one
    • Screen isn’t the best, definitely HD
    • In short, my screen failed, and I filed a warranty claim with AOC.
    • Great screen for business travel
    • I have to buy a better transportable screen.
    • I could overlook the blurry screen
    • I worked at first then all of a sudden it would turn off my main screen and show nothing on this screen
    • Works great as a second screen with my laptop
    • I'll be working and suddenly the screen is dark.
    • However one trip through the air port the screen was shattered
    • This is an awesome screen
    • When I explained to them that no physical damage occurred to the monitor and in my opinion it is a product/manufacturing issue and felt that it should be covered the guy said to me "let me rephrase this, the monitors are fragile any pressure will damage the screen."
    • I am sure that it probably has a nice screen resolution, etc, but am unable to verify since it mechanically will not engage
    • This screen is pretty great to be honest
    • Problems: While playing video; screen flicker/refresh rates, the USB3.0 cable port in the back of the monitor isn't really secure and so sometimes it doesn't make proper contact and ends up not making connection with my computer
    • So, long story short, the first time I used the monitor, I accidentally pulled the monitor off the coffee table and it took a tumble; now half the pixels are disabled and the screen is useless.
    • Im very disappointed as it is very hard to find an external portable computer screen for a Mac laptop.
    • This product is of poor quality, I have had the monitor for approximately 6 months; I have had to replace the coard and now the screen is spotty.
    • It has no problem holding up the screen at an angle and looks very sleek.
    • The screen is awesome in theory, but ultimately, doesn't work with my MacBook
    • My laptop (a Lenovo T440p) lost its screen imaging (blank screen when powered on).
    • Only issue is that the screen is very shiny and the glare from lights in the room is distracting.
    • Occasionally, there is a bit of lag when I have moving images on both screens, and the picture quality is obviously not as good as my mac's screen, but for someone who uses the second screen almost exclusively for text and programming, it does the job
    • Screen is good but a little dim, wish I could make it a bit
    • The disconnect almost seems random and inconsistent, not directly caused by moving the screen or shaking the wire
    • Great screen works flawlessly
    • Great screen works flawlessly
    • bad quality for the screen ,the screen is cracked and it was just purchased in Oct 2017
    • The screen on the first monitor I got was damaged; it worked, but the display had both black and white blind spots and showed a cracking pattern
    • Then, after commuting with it in my backpack for a week (nothing crazy...just on and off a bus), the screen broke
    • As a summary, what they should include in the future is:-Thinner screen (If Asus can, why can't you)-1080p resolution (It doesn't make sense for your phone to have better resolution than your monitor)-Touchscreen capability as an option (After all, scrolling documents via touch does make life easier, and most of all, touchscreen is affordable enough for it to not add significantly to the price to just have it there in case you need or want it)-Please maintain the small folding
    • This is a great second screen for my laptop to use for work or when I want to game/watch shows at the same time
    • Either that or you could change the resolution on your screens which makes everything on your laptop teeny and everything on the portable screen so big you can't even see anything you have open on it.
    • The screen has just blown out, less than one year of owning it.
    • Once I got the driver installed, the screen worked great at first.
    • Recommend purchasing a good screen protector that has that feature
    • Screen is ok but software does not work on Winfows
    • Looking for a portable 2nd screen that would be easy to use, I found this one from AOC.
    • Screen is bright, HD display is nice and crisp (originally bought the non-HD, but needed to upgrade in order to see Excel spreadsheets with more clarity in smaller text) and had no complaints about the performance of the monitor
    • Obviously not as clear or bright as my main laptop screen, but more than adequate.
    • I purchased this monitor as a 2nd screen to my laptop to work on documents, email and other business programs (Office 365) when on the road for my job.
    • The screen is completely ruined
    • a little glitchy on Mac and the screen can be a bit dark, but it was very cheap and works out of the box - it does the job
    • That means that the screen (at times) will either flicker and/or turn off
    • PROS : portability, good stand which folds back, fairly light in weight, bright screen, nice protective carrying case
    • Resolution and contrast are OK, but the glossy screen means glare that can really degrade the readability.
    • My AOC monitor has stopped working - the screen only flashes after being plugged in
    • According to my research before purchasing the AOC e1659Fwu, some other similar monitors reportedly have less bright/clear screens or seem to have compatibility problems
    • The screen has no display controls separate from your laptop display, so I can't brighten the screen.
    • It would not refresh the screen until I dragged the window a little and suddenly the cell I clicked on would be selected.
    • Works well as portable second screen for software development, on Mac MBP with OS X 10.10.3 and Win7 in virtual machine.
    • Works well as portable second screen for software development, on Mac MBP with OS X 10.10.3 and Win7 in virtual machine.
    • I was looking for a portable screen for my Xbox One
    • This monitor feels fragile, so i had to take extra precautions to protect the screen
    • I absolutely love my extra screen
    • For being one of the best in class, I give it 4 stars, but I don't see why we can't have a product with a better quality screen.
    • I wonder why nobody seems to make a portable screen with HDMI or Display Port connectors.
    • looking.3- Full Screen doesnt always work
    • No visible damage but the screen just
    • So now I have an apparently dead screen that cost me over $10 per use for the few times it worked for me before it died
    • AND if you want to further protect the screen add a fitted piece of HPDL (Formica
    • 6 months later I bought a screen for another co-worker, 8 months later and both our screens stopped working.
    • Very clear, bright screen
    • Screen is good but a little dim, wish I could make it a bit
    • The sleeve is nice but is really just to protect the screen from getting scratched in your bag
    • The screen is awesome in theory, but ultimately, doesn't work with my MacBook
    • Screen broke when I left it on my desk overnight
    • When connecting this screen and my keyboard with a usb splitter, the screen takes up too much power and the keyboard doesn’t work
    • I have used it for only a few minutes, but the screen is bright, clear, and the form factor is great!
    • On my Mac, easy peezy, Macs just work and although it's not my retina display, it's damn good for what it really is, a spare screen is all
    • Screen is clear enough for everything I do...watch Netflix, buy even more stuff on Amazon, read webpages, and other basic computer use.
    • The first time I traveled with it in my carry on bag the screen cracked and now this is useless
    • Love it so much I bought a second, now I can have a good set up while working on my different assignments for class, no more delays due to insufficient screen space when shuffling through file folders or reference images.
    • Clear screen
    • It's not a retina screen, so it's not as bright as the mac screen
    • it's not heavy, fits perfectly in my laptop bag and provides a great additional screen for work.
    • then this screen will cause a step function improvement in your productivity
    • Garbage, poor driver support and screen is glitching already.
    • Screen is broken although it remained in protective cover.
    • Problems: While playing video; screen flicker/refresh rates, the USB3.0 cable port in the back of the monitor isn't really secure and so sometimes it doesn't make proper contact and ends up not making connection with my computer
    • If it doesn't work, I will return this screen and try the latest ASUS USB monitor.
    • Screen cracked
    • Great additional screen for my MacBook Pro for working during travel
    • I'd been debating returning it before because the USB3 only option with a unusual, detachable cord limited the screen's usability enough to make it annoying.
    • After being mobile for one day the screen is suddenly cracked and useless.
    • Perfect extra screen when I travel and want to remote into my dual screens at work.
    • The screen is crystal clear
    • The "duplicate" screen worked for about 4 months and now that option is no longer available
    • Note: both the laptop and PC "saw" the monitor though the screen remained dark
    • Anyway, awesome portable 2nd screen for general computing work with a Surface Pro 6
    • The next day when I went to power it on, the screen was completely destroyed internally and only displays black and white
    • Great extra screen for laptop use.
    • The resolution is what it is: at 1366 x 768, it's not super clear, but it's acceptable for static screens like Excel or text documents.
    • Love the light-weight, single USB connection for an ultra clear 2nd screen that makes writing, graphics, and other displays so much easier to deal with
    • The screen is clear enough for my needs (email, excel, general business support needs.)3
    • Reason I bought this was because we have employees who are on road a lot so having a portable screen really helps
    • I use it as a second screen when working
    • While it does work, and it works well, it does not have great image quality and it is a slightly odd screen resolution.
    • The screen flickers on and then off, over and over
    • This second screen is amazing and so transportable that I can go anywhere and use it - I am not restricted to sitting in areas where there are power outlets because this magical screen uses the power from your laptop
    • Bright screen, easy to use and extend screens
    • I can't figure out how to dim the extended screen but it is very hard on the eyes.
    • Awesome screen for someone like me who travels 90%..
    • The use side is not s problem
    • USB C requires alt mode for it to support displays and without it you will not be able to get this monitor to work
    • Great little monitor all works off of USB c
    • This monitor is not as clear as the USB-C
    • I got this in March and for the first 3 months it worked fine; plug in USB-C and then boom, instant 2nd monitor
    • So I ordered USB-C to USB-A adapter, and the display still didn't work.
