The smart stand for the USB-C monitor needs to be fairly upright

Great monitor for the price and the stand really helps.

AOC has a better stand, and, first of all, better contrast/bightness

The stand is stable and seems like it will last

Works as advertised, but the stand is really weird.

It has some nice features, the stand is great, comes with a neoprene pouch and y split usb 3.0 cable so you can use a separate power supply

Pros: Plug-and-play, instant start-up, nice colors, nice resolution, good size, lightweight, good stand, comes with a cover, plenty brightCons: The case is more bulky than it needs to be, the USB connection in the back is not optimally placed, the cord is stiff and "feels" cheap (but it has held up to a lot of use with no damage), the case finish should be matte instead of shinyDespite some minor flaws, this monitor is perfect for students or business people on-the-go.

The stand isn't very stable in environments with clutter

Between that and the lousy stand, I'm probably going to return this monitor

Plus the cover that works as a stand is really handy

I also bought the 1649 because I can't really take advantage of the usb 3.0 capabilities with my old laptop, but this is a lot slimmer than the 1649 and has a better stand.

The stand is not so sturdy.

I work from home in a one bedroom apartment in NYC and don't like having stand monitors

The stand comes in handy.

It's light weight, the back stand folds nicely into the back slot and very easy to set-up with my travel laptop

It is very portable thin with easy adjustable stand

The monitor fell off a laptop stand (8 in.; 20 cm) and broke apart on the side of impact, also damaging the screen

It'll definitely do in a pinch, but I would recommend a different stand

The stand and cords are great

The worst part is that the screen is glossy, though the stand is easy to adjust and I can usually find a position where the reflections don't bother me

It has a slim profile, has a sturdy stand, and a nice wide viewing screen (my other one is the same size but seems to have a narrower screen).

Cons.- Basel is easily scratched, thin and flex.- Included stand is ridiculous, flimsy and not adjustable.

I had one before without the kickstand and it was more difficult to keep upright - the case was not a great stand.

My favorite feature was actually a small one -- the stand was angled to work well in both portrait and landscape modes

awesome, sleek, great stand, doesn't take much desk space, great picture, convenient, worked with only 1 usb2.0 pluged in on my sony laptop and my desktop

The stand is probably the only other drawback, I wish it was more like the ASUS (folding back the cover) which is more stable on a soft surface like a hotel room bed.

Lightweight, very neat stand to support it, but if the device you are using is more than a few months old, then your device has technology that is not compatible with the monitor and at this point after hours of research and conversations online with the support, at this point in time an adapter does not exist to make this compaitble with older technology, including laptops.

After days of fooling with it, downloading software, and numerous emails to AOC, I got this information from AOC technical support:"All our USB monitors are meant to be used as a second display and it will not work as a stand alone monitor.

The stand is adequate for holding it up and is adjustable for which angle you, need to a point

no need to carry a portable stand or leaning against something solid.

4 stars because the stand is not very stable, more like a picture frame than a monitor

My only complaint is that the stand is pretty weak in portrait mode, I'm constantly having it slip and slam into the table

The monitor has a kick-stand and adjusts to several angles, so it easy to place on most any flat surface.

Light, bright, clever stand/cover.

The screen itself is super light and the folding stand acts as a protection when travelling with it

Some of the other monitors I tried had crappy stands that were a pain to use

Also great for photo slide shows of vertical shots, as stand holds either mode, and unit supports it, which laptop will not do

Now I'm going to go fight with customer service again to try and get my money refunded as I don't want another one from AOC.

Perfect for our needs to have a second monitor...as we often work out of the office.

Buyer beware as I have filed a BBB complaint.

standard USB type C cables don't work as they only care power and data, but don't support video.

I really enjoyed this product until the screen cracked as I was traveling

and it does not kill the battery on the laptop as fast as I would have thought

I hope that it continues to impress as we use it more.

A great way to add an additional screen when on the road, as well as at home.

As other buyers have noted, the USB cord is a little short, so you are going to be restricted as to which side of your computer you want to set this screen up on if you only have USB 3.0 on one side of your system.

Monitor is just as easy, compact, lightweight and portable as I wanted it to be.

Unfortunately, I didn't take it out of the box until after the period of return expired as it was a gif for my husband.
